ABOUT KIM CLIJSTERS

Kim is the first Belgian tennis player and the first mother to achieve the World No. 1 Ranking. In her career, she won 6 Grand Slam titles, including 3 US Open singles titles, an Australian Open singles title, and doubles titles at the French Open and Wimbledon. Taking time to start her family, Kim retired in 2007 at age 23. She returned two years later winning her 2nd US Open title, this time as an unranked player. The following year she defended her title and then won the Australian Open, becoming the first mother to hold the World No. 1 ranking. Kim is an eight-time recipient of the Karen Krantzcke Sportsmanship Award and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2017.
